A native of Louisiana, Eric DeLaune began his law enforcement careerthere in 1992 as a policeman. He began his federal law enforcement careerin 2000 with the U.S. Customs Service Office of Field Operations. Heinitially served as a Customs Inspector in Houston, TX where he worked inpassenger and cargo inspections. Following 9/11, Mr. DeLaune served as aFederal Air Marshal before accepting a position as a U.S. Customs Service Special Agent in2003.

During his career Mr. DeLaune has served as a field agent in various offices in Louisiana, GroupSupervisor at HSI Memphis, Program Manager, Acting Section and Unit Chief at the HSI CyberCrimes Center (C3), HSI Domestic Operations Manager, Special Assistant to the ICE Directorand Deputy Director, and HSI’s Senior Fellow at the International Association of Chiefs ofPolice where he consulted on domestic and international police policy.

From 2019 until June of 2022, Mr. DeLaune served as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge inthe HSI Baltimore, Maryland field office where he led groups conducting complex, long-termcriminal investigations across the breadth of HSI’s investigative authority. Following his servicein Baltimore, Mr. DeLaune served as the acting Deputy Special Agent in Charge (DSAC) inCharlotte and was selected to serve as the DSAC in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. DeLaunecurrently holds the position of Special Agent in Charge in New Orleans serving the states ofLouisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

Mr. DeLaune has earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana where he servesas an adjunct instructor, and a master’s degree from the University of Memphis.
