Michael "Mike" Haik, III

Michael “Mike” Haik, III is the 16th Judicial District Attorney for Iberia, St. Mary & St. Martin Parishes, having been sworn into office on March 17, 2023. He succeeded the late Bo Duhe, who passed away on March 15, 2025.

Haik is married to Karly Champagne Haik and they have 3 sons, Michael, Mixon and Myles. He is a Republican from New Iberia, has served as the First Assistant District Attorney, and is now focusing on fighting gun violence as a priority for his office.

He aims to ensure that those convicted of gun crimes are sentenced to jail for a very long time. Haik’s approach to the DA’s office is prioritizing the victims of crime and ensuring justice is served.
