Al Patin

Al Patin serves as chief executive officer of Ochsner Health’s South Shore Community Hospitals and Bayou Region, overseeing eight community hospitals across southeast Louisiana and leading the region’s strategic vision, growth and operational performance. As a registered nurse and healthcare leader with more than two decades of healthcare experience, Al brings a unique frontline perspective to executive leadership, combining deep clinical expertise with a strong track record of advancing patient care, physician engagement and organizational growth.

Before assuming his current role, Al served as CEO of Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. During his more than 23-year career with Ochsner Lafayette General, he helped shape the future of healthcare in Acadiana. His leadership contributed to major milestones, including construction of the hospital’s patient tower, establishment of its Level II Trauma Center and the creation and expansion of graduate medical education programs. He also served as 2025 chair of One Acadiana, the region’s leading economic development organization.

A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Patin earned both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an MBA in Healthcare. He and his wife, Nikie McCrory Patin, met while attending nursing school at ULL and have remained committed advocates for the health and well-being of Louisiana communities throughout their careers.
